Mobility and transportation are very important elements in the green economy. For that reason I visited the urban mobility summit in Paris ‘Autonomy’ [ www.autonomy.paris]
The mobility industry plays an important role in the sustainable development of transportation. We already see that big cities like Paris are stimulating EV’s, car sharing and electric bikes and scooters. That is one of the reasons why I am following this evolution as close as possible. Not only in cities, but also in rural areas as the region in France where I live, a lot of actions from the government and regional authorities are taken to move sustainable transportation forward.

The car sharing project ‘Autonome’ uses electric cars. I am a member of this system and sometimes use this Renault Zoë to move around in the Mayenne.
The Renault has an autonomy of 250 km. The project is a part of the Territoire à Energie Positive – the Positive Energy Territory – http://www.territoires-energie-positive.fr/eng/communities/steps-to-becoming-a-recognised-positive-energy-territory-in-france. Solar panels have been installed to charge the cars and they produce enough energy for 90.000 km per year. No emissions from the car, no emissions to charge them! There is no doubt about it, the green economy is emerging.
